I discovered this precious little table on ebay and dragged my poor partner in crime half way across Melbourne to collect it. She had great bones... terrific legs, shapely top... all the features of a well proportioned old Dame.. just a little tired and in need of a little facelift.
This little darling came home with a few issues.. firstly she was covered in years of brown paint love.. I mean someone had tenderly loved her to pieces by making sure she was properly... really properly protected in inches of mission brown paint.. thick, gooey and ever so tasteful (in the 70's) !!!!!!!
Secondly.. I think she must have been a home built... her legs were uneven.. It wasn't until she was painted the first time.. moved inside and set up for her photo shoot that I realized she was leaning to one side..( and she had not had one Martini- I promise). I tried convincing myself that it was a minor issue and it would go away.. but the more I looked the more it frustrated me... so back to the shed and a few inches later.. even. She still leans slightly but not enough to let it bother you and just enough to add that gorgeous "I have had a previous life" character that I adore in furniture.
The graphics are once again from The Graphics Fairy. Don't ask me which image I used... it was that long ago that I first printed it off.. I have forgotten and then I had to do some cutting and pasting to achieve the size and shape I needed..
But there you have it- Voila... amazing what can be achieved with a little putty fill, paint and TLC.. She will have the opportunity to Live a few more years, well loved and useful.. Forever Young (like the rest of us with a little putty fill and fresh coat of paint!)
This little lady is for sale so if you are interested, jump on over to the For sale page and check it out..
